Sweet Little Emily

To meet Emily and leave without smiling is impossible. I walk in the room and she crawls with excitement to greet me, followed by the ecstatic kicking of her little legs as I pick her up. She’s delightful and holds back nothing when it comes to showing how she feels. A wrinkled nose and furrowed eyebrows when she tastes something new or the bright-eyed smile with a gasp when she’s excited while playing a game are those moments that you wish you could preserve forever and relive every now and then.

Emily is the 9 month old daughter of my very dear friends, Phil and Molly Rogers. Molly kicks my butt regularly at the gym and calls me to see if I need coffee anytime she’s out and about. She’s been a great influence and mentor as a more experienced Marine wife. So, having the chance to photograph her daughter was a great opportunity to say thanks.

Here’s our beach Life Session:

After photographing Emily on the beach, I learned something new. I had never photographed on the beach, which is a challenge in itself, and Emily hasn’t really spent much time there either. Her fascination with the sand and curiosity for new things was holding her attention. I didn’t feel like I captured the real Emily. So, I asked Molly if we could go out again. Being that Molly is interested in photography and incredibly talented, we decided to shoot it together. It was pure joy sharing the fun with someone who understands a passion for photography.

Here’s our downtown Pensacola Life Session:

That’s the Emily I know!:-)Thanks Molly and Phil for giving me the pleasure of photographing your daughter. She’s a blessing to the world.
