Audra is the first Marine wife I ever met. We met on facebook in 2008 just before our husbands went to Officer Candidate School together. It was great to have a friend who understood our place in life even though we lived in different parts of the country. Then we both moved to Virginia and I had the opportunity to photograph her and her husband, Matt, at the National Mall in DC. It’s one of my favorite shoots that I’ve done. You can check out those photos here. Now we both live in Pensacola and I recently had the pleasure of photographing Matt’s parents here to celebrate Mother’s Day and their 45th wedding anniversary. They are absolutely adorable together. When I asked them how they managed 45 years of marriage and staying happy, they both said “Compromise, lots of compromise.” Thanks for the advice.
