David is my brother-in-law, TWICE. And, Natalie is my husband’s sister-in-law, TWICE. David is also my husband’s brother and Natalie is my sister. Laugh. Be shocked. Yes, my sister married my husband’s brother. To make it clear, I want everyone to know that I was first. I met Steve when I was 16 and married him before Natalie and David even started dating. I originally thought it was weird. Are there not enough fish in the Minneapolis or American sea for my sister to find a husband outside the Watson family? I guess with 9 Watson kids, they take up a higher percentage of the fish in the Minneapolis pool. Either way, I realized that next to my husband, my sister is my best friend. So, at the end of the day, why would I not want her to have a husband as great as mine? And how much closer can you get than his next younger brother?
Anyway, enough about that. That’s not what this post is about. Natalie and David are married and now have 2 children. I pretty much photograph them every day. Ok, every day that I’m in Minneapolis since they live in our house in Bloomington and I stay there when I come into town. They can tell you all about Modern Joy: Unscripted Life Photography because it’s pretty much my life. Just ask Natalie about what Unscripted Photography means. She’s got lots of stories. They have books, baby announcements, birthday invitations, wall collages and a 40×60 wall portrait of their family. I’m thankful that she enjoys my photography enough to literally paint her walls with it. Here’s some portraits of the Watson family’s home. Stay tuned for more. We just photographed a family session with their newest addition to their family, Olivia.
Thanks Nat for sharing the photos. Your showcasing style amused me so much that Steve called from the other room to ask if I was ok. I was laughing so loud.
