Audra is my first Marine Corps friend. I met her on Facebook prior to our husbands going into the same Officer Candidate School class in 2009. We called each other on Friday nights to swap stories about what was going on at OCS and how we were doing solo at home. She pretty much knows everyone, their mom, sister, and dog but has a way of being a genuine friend to more people than I would think possible. She’s got a great laugh and the ability to sneak humor into everything she says. I love her Facebook posts because she comments on all the real things in life that we all think about but don’t think to say…such as petitioning the Marine Corps to consider her 195lb English Mastiff, Stonewall, a dependent because he eats more than a child would. And my favorite thing about Audra is her dedication to the Childless and Motivated club. There are few people left in the world that are postponing the child bearing years like I am. Stay strong Audra and don’t drink the water or you’ll get pregnant and you’ll be forced to leave the club. Oh yeah, and Matt is pretty awesome too. He’s a Marine Officer in helicopter training in Pensacola who loves Stonewall as much as he loves Audra…which is a lot. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to photograph you guys again. Excited to see if we end up in the same place in the world again.
