Sweet Baby Wade in Newport, NC

Sweet baby Wade is the newest member of the Rogers family.  If you’ve never met them, they truly are as beautiful and amazing in real life as they appear in these photos.  I have never met a stronger or more beautiful woman than Molly.  She’s the positive Marine wife who wears a cute apron while she makes home cooked meals for all of her friends and family,  goes puddle jumping with Emily at the park, and is the queen of finding things to make her life better on pinterest.  She creates joy in each day and figures out a way to be strong through all the struggles.  Phill is her adoring husband who loves his family like every man should and lives the example of a true Marine Officer.  Emily, Wyatt, and Wade are lucky to be part of such a wonderful family.  Check out these sneak peeks from our session yesterday.

The Kiesel Family in Corpus Christi, TX

Sunlight kisses.  Elle giggling as she performs her twirling ballet for me.  Sterling chasing bubbles as far as he can go.  Blaise excitedly posing like he was in a video game.  Dru and Gina are adorable when they snuggle.  Life.  It’s beautiful and fun.  I couldn’t think of a better way to spend a beautiful afternoon than watching the Kiesel family play.  Here’s a few sneak peeks from our session today.

Happy Birthday Malachi David!

I have eight and a half minutes to write and publish this post so excuse the not so eloquent post.  My sister had her baby last Saturday and I’ve spent the week with them helping take care of the kids, the house, cooking, cleaning, and of course photographing.  She lives in Webster (boonies MN) where I have no internet access and very limited cell phone service.  And by limited cell phone service, I mean, I leave my phone in the upstairs window sill of the corner of their house in hopes of getting one bar of edge service and sometimes very delayed text messages.  Needless to say it’s been an incredible week with my family and the lack of connectivity to the world has given me a chance to just play, read, observe, and connect with the kids and my sister and brother-in-law.  More later since Caribou is closing and I don’t have any more time.

Check out the sneak peeks from this week…

What a beautiful day!  I love days when the sun is shining and the birds are flying, not to mention shooting a gorgeous family at the Art Museum with a gigantic lush fountain.  Check out the sneak peeks of our session today while I work on the rest of the images.  Thanks Sean and Courtney for spending the day with me.  I had lots of fun.

Aviation Training

Despite the challenge of moving around the country for flight school, there are a few perks.  I can get access to photograph the planes.  Aviation is so common in our community that it’s not that weird for people to talk about altitudes, flight plans, G’s, in and outs, etc.  It’s a world that is foreign to a lot of the world but to me, it’s become our home.  There’s something fascinating about being able to travel the sky.  So, I’m lucky to have it in my backyard and be able to photograph the planes in all their splendor.  Here’s a few photos that I’ve shot throughout our time in flight school.

T-44s – Advanced trainer plane for multi-engine pilots.  Pilots who will fly P-3s and C-130s fly this before flying their designated aircraft.

T-34c Turbomentor – This is one of the planes that Student Naval Aviators fly before they are designated a career aircraft.TC-12 – This is the multi-engine advanced trainer aircraft for Osprey Pilots and also some P-3 pilots.MV-22 Osprey – This is a fleet aircraft used by the Marine Corps.  This is what my husband is training to fly.  We will be relocating to MCAS New River in a couple weeks.  I can’t wait to be surrounded by these things.  They are badass.
TH-57 – This is one of the trainer helicopters for all Helicopter Pilots.  Because Ospreys are part rotary and part fixed wing, all Osprey pilots fly this trainer in addition to the multi-engine trainer.  There are two models of this helicopter as well, the Bravo and the Charlie.
